Mandatory vaccine trials?

Hilary Butler - Thursday, January 19, 2012

One of my favourite haunts is a website called www.clinicaltrials.gov This website is where you see past, present and proposed vaccine trials.

It's a must for anyone looking at vaccines, particularly if you are looking at whether or not trials are applicable to YOU or your family. It's not unusual to find that one of more of your family members might have been excluded from a vaccine trial because of a "health condition".  Yet, when the vaccine is licensed, it's considered "safe" for everyone, including all the people excluded from the trials in the first place.

Quite a few of the trials on the website, have been suspended because of "lack" of healthy participants.

That doesn't mean there aren't enough supposedly healthy people around, one assumes... -  if you believe the whingers. Supposedly, it's because people don't want to be part of vaccine safety trials. So what's the possible solution?

Why, that's obvious, particularly with terrorists just waiting to kill off everyone with something really serious, so a medical journal has the answer...... let's consider mandatory vaccine trails.

I have absolutely no problem with mandatory vaccine trials, in the following recipients:

Everyone in the medical profession including: FDA CDC, ACIP,

All doctors and nurses in hospitals.

Anyone in any capacity who attempts to bully a parent to stick needles, or who actually injects vaccines into any other person.

Everyone involved in the manufacturing, transporting, licensing, and advocating of mass vaccination, and that of course includes Bill Gates, his family and everyone working at Microsoft.

There are SO MANY PEOPLE in this industry which seeks to mandate what parents should do, that given these staggering numbers, there should never be any problems recruiting vaccine safety trial subjects, should there?

After all, with safety of vaccines "a given", all of these people should have no hesitation to stepping up to the plate, and walking the walk. Pardon the mixed metaphors....

There is also a large group amongst the provaccine zealots who are now seeking to overturn philosophical objections in the states of America which currently have such a provision. And if they could, they would remove the religious objections as well. Some really dyed-in-the-wool amongst them, would also eliminate medical exemptions, since there is no vaccine which cannot be administered in hospital so that if the patient keels over, ICU can bring them back to life, ... maybe. But they will leave those two legal exemptions alone for now, because they can't upset the Muslims, and getting the medical exemption nuked might be a push too far...

Mandatory vaccination trials should start "at home" - using all the people who avidly want everyone else to "Just Do It" without question, and without exemption, and without reference to the realities of the clinical trials which often exclude more than 30% of the general population.

Fair enough, don't you think? And just think. For once, we might get an accurate assessment of vaccine reactions. Read Full Blog

Windmills of my mind.

Hilary Butler - Sunday, July 24, 2011

Further to yesterday’s blog, the latest Lancet once again, misses the point. Something inevitable with Mr Fog-Optics in his Ivory Tower. In his latest contribution to the debate, called The Vaccine Paradox,  a two pronged attack-approach is taken. First, those who dare criticise or question vaccines are vilified by implication. Second, Bill Gates’ Foundation is fingered for silence about what Horton considers is really important.

In order to define what is "important", Horton quotes the “2010 Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health”, saying;

“Ban Ki-moon’s 2010 Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health sets out a comprehensive approach to reaching Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) 4 and 5 for the world’s poorest countries. The strategy is broad, inclusive, and ambitious.”

Have a read of the 2010 Global Strategy. Frankly, it’s not broad enough - and certainly doesn’t include the really important political and social needs for a stable, healthy society.

But Horton goes further. He says;

“While civil-society movements demand access to new interventions—from antiretrovirals to emergency obstetric care—there is not the same fervour about access to vaccines. The notion, expressed elsewhere in global health, of the right to the highest attainable standard of health is rarely expressed in the field of vaccines. For these attitudes to change, the vaccine community, together with its partners, has an opportunity to rewrite the terms of engagement between vaccines (as part of a larger package of services) and communities threatened with vaccine-preventable diseases. While the past has much to teach us, it is the future of vaccines that must command our priority today.”

This has to be the biggest load of blinded drivel I’ve ever seen written on paper, but it’s what you expect from medical journals whose editors walk in lockstep with, and who are joined at the hip to vaccine manufacturers. Vaccine manufacturers can never “get enough”. It’s not enough, that vaccines are rammed down all parents “throats” from the moment a doctor opens his mouth. It's not enough that families in Africa have no choice about vaccines, and they are administered pretty much at gun point.  Read Full Blog

Lessons from Ernest Shackleton.

Hilary Butler - Wednesday, July 20, 2011

Knowing history can sometimes be more important than you might think.  Kim Hill was talking to someone on her Saturday national radio programme, and as an aside, the discussion veering onto the reason why Ernest Shackleton's South Pole venture resulted in everyone dying.  The speaker put it quite bluntly, with words to this effect:  "Everyone died, because Shackleton took five people, and enough food for four."

Something most of us who have studied history, already know. Most people interested in connecting the dots in broad social issues will have noted several recent interconnected events. The first, was the big GAVI meeting in London in June, with the drive to collect billions of dollars - for vaccines to save babies' lives in Africa etc. The second was the news about insurgent groups continuing to take very young children - boys and girls - to train as soldiers, or as slaves.  Here's one story, and as this article shows, this has been going on for decades, and continues to this day.  The third was the story about Al Queda in Yemen, putting out a disney type cartoon to recruit very young children to going out and kill lots of people.

These headlines took me back to 1988, when The Evening Post ran their weekly column by a Dr Anyon.  In this column, Dr Anyon talked about the three million children who died every year, because they were not vaccinated. He also mused just what sort of life these saved vaccinated children would have to endure. That 3 million figure varies, according to who wants something. In 2006, Unicef in the Herald said 10 million children a year, so give us more dosh please.  Bill Gates adds the three new vaccines will save another 3 million more children, over 4 years - so give us more dosh please. So I'll round it out, and say without any shred of scientific proof, that if all children in undeveloped countries are fully vaccinated, that will "save" 11 million children, every year.

When you listen to the glibness of Bill Gates and all the other vaccine defenders - vaccines are "it", basically.  Problem solved.  Vaccines are quick and easy and a great photo opportunity.  In Bill Gates's case, it also increases the profits in his share portfolios dramatically.  Listen to Bill and Melinda, and it's "all about the kids."

That sounds very hollow to me.  If the issue was really about the BEST way to save kids, the focus would be completely different.  The focus would be on clean water for everyone.  Providing people with the tools and means to be independant and grow their own food innovatively... dealing with insurgents ... encouraging small businesses... getting to the core of the corruption in African politics. The focus would come from looking at Ground Zero - not "best use of money".  Read Full Blog

Polio and lemmings

Hilary Butler - Sunday, May 29, 2011

There are none so blind as those who won't look for their own information. There is none so blind as a medical profession that believes "polio" is about to be wiped from the face of the earth.  "We'll get there any day soon you know, if we JUST persist throwing vaccines around the world hand over fist. We NEVER see polio any more, do we?"  After all, as Bill Gates intoned to a rapturous World Health Organisation on 17th May, 2011, we're just about there! ...   Soon, we can extol the extermination of that dreaded plague, POLIO.  There is only one problem, and that is that Bill Gates is blind, and WHO is wilfully blind.  Most of society just doesn't realise there's an issue, because... well... they believe! Polio has not been eradicated at all. And will not be eradicated. Polio has been renamed. And here is the proof from WHO's own website: Read Full Blog

The coming adult needle cushion.

Hilary Butler - Saturday, March 19, 2011

Do you, like some other kiwis I know, roll up and get your five yearly "pneumonia shot"? You did know, of course, that it was useless, right? Of course not. I mean, if that was the case, your doctor wouldn't have given it to you, right? You did know that the Cochrane Collaboration, medical doyen of evidence based medicine, has stated that the polysaccharide pneumococcal vaccine is useless since their very first review of it right? (Latest one, 2008),  You didn't know that? Well, that's because your doctor didn't tell you. I wonder why? Just like they don't tell you that the Cochrane collaboration says the flu vaccines are also rubbish. Well guess what? The UK vaccine committee, the JVCI has just announced on 17 March 2011, that they are removing the adult pneumococcal vaccine from their schedule which they've used and persuaded people for decades that it was worth having..., because it doesn't work. Why might this be? Altruism towards their patients? Of course not. they pulled it  because on 13th March 2011Pfizer filed for use, a new PREVNAR 13 for adults. But the story doesn't end thereRead Full Blog

So who is the fanatic?

Hilary Butler - Saturday, January 22, 2011

Several times, I’ve been asked to explain my silence, and why I have not written about Andrew Wakefield in the past. My concerns started in 1981, and go much deeper and relate to much more fundamental issues than “that” paper. It’s up to Andrew Wakefield to clear his own name. It’s up to Deer to prove he’s right. There are far more serious, fundamental issues people need to face up to when it comes to vaccines.

On 6th February 2001, I wrote an article called More Motives Reviewed based on a publication WHO had put out in 1997 called “The CVI Strategic Plan Managing Opportunity and Change: A vision of Vaccination for the 21st Century.” (PDF is 5.23 mb) 1997 was the year that I realised that Henry Gadsden, Chief executive of vaccine manufacturer Merck was right, and that the plan was bigger than any one drug but encompassed as much of the drug list as feasible - including vaccines. I was shocked at the “reach” laid out by the WHO. And not surprised that "consumers" were never considered.  This was all about conditioning people to accept vaccines, and demand them.  This was all about getting the pretty, the famous, billboard names, media and the politicians to promote Henry Gadsden et al's vaccine dream.

Plainly, Wakefield had never read that plan, for if he had, and if he had had his pulse on the new vaccine development in the pipeline, he would have known that the CVI Strategic Plan was only possible, if the record of both the DPT and the MMR remained utterly unblemished, so that layer upon layer of other vaccines could be added into both of them to eventually result in super vaccines containing many antigens. Read Full Blog

When Indian doctors open their mouths...

Hilary Butler - Friday, July 09, 2010

What happens when paediatricians take a look at the disease incidence in their own country and decide that certain vaccines are not justified on epidemiological grounds?  Nothing, So long as they keep their mouths shut.  What happens when they look into the use of certain vaccines, and find that reactions are being covered up?  Nothing.  So long as they keep their mouths shut. But when they tell the world about both... , no matter that good science is on their side, there is only one possible result. To start with, they will be branded ANTI VACCINE. What better slur is there?  Anti vaccine people are idiots, don't you know?  Truth won't be discussed.  Truth is inconvenient to the vaccine industry, especially to organisations who owe their existence and income to the vaccine industry. Simple as that. Here's the story. Read Full Blog
